How close to the front could you mount an intake? Reason I ask is you might be able to mount one near front, block off middle fan area and use back part of top as an exhaust. I need to write a detailed explanation of this problem. gaming GPU generate as much or more heat than CPUs do. Keeping the heated exhasut from modern GPUs from contaminating the CPU intake airflow has become one of the biggest problems in case airflow. Front top exhaust pulls air up past CPU cooler. Then I'll just plug in my last bottom intake fan to one of the MOBO fan connectors.Ĭlick to expand.I would not use top exhaust and definitely not 2x top exhaust. Using 2x GELID PWM 1-to-4 Splitter Cable:įor the 2nd MOBO CPU PWN port, I'll have the other GELID splitter cable running the 2nd of NH-D15 fan and also running 2 top exhaust and the rear exhaust fan. This will then leave me with the other top exhaust fan, rear exhaust fan and bottom intake fan to be plugged into the MOBO system fan connectors (that may not be PWM). Please have a look at the 2 setups below and advise what the best path would be?įor the 1st MOBO CPU PWN port, I'll use the GELID splitter cable running 1 of the NH-D15 fans (as master rpm) and also running the 2 front intake and 1 bottom intake fans.Īs the NH-D15 comes with a NA-YC1 y-split cable, I will then use that for the 2nd MOBO CPU PWN port to run the other NH-D15 fan and also 1 top exhaust fan. I think I will go with GELID PWM 1-to-4 Splitter Cable. PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G2 Gold Power SupplyĬase Fan: 3x Noctua NF-F12 Industrial PPC 120mm 2000RPM IP67 PWM FanĬase Fan: 4x Noctua NF-A14 Industrial PPC 140mm 2000RPM IP67 PWM Fan RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance 3600MHz LPX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 Black (Total 16GB) Storage: Samsung 512GB SM951 NVMe M.2 SSD GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Lightning 6GB

My rig below: (haven't had time to put in sig) My question is, as my MOBO only has 3x 4-pin system fan connectors, what fans should I plug into the MOBO and what fans should I plug into the PSU? Not sure if it will make a huge difference? I plan to have 2x 140mm intake fans at the front, 2x 120mm intake fans at the bottom, 2x 140mm exhaust fans at the top and one last 120mm exhaust fan at the back.

So I have ordered a Corsair Obsidian 450D, 4x Noctua NF-A14 Industrial PPC 140mm 2000RPM IP67 PWM Fan and 3x Noctua NF-F12 Industrial PPC 120mm 2000RPM IP67 PWM Fan.
